Management Trainee

Summary

As a Management Trainee, you will learn how to manage the entire loan process for all the company's products and services including consumer lending, auto financing, home mortgages, home equity lending, unsecured loans, debt consolidation and retail financing. You will meet with local retailers and learn how to develop ongoing, mutually beneficial, merchant relationships.

Training components

During your training, you'll gain valuable experience utilizing formal training materials and on-the-job training for all aspects of managing, lending, servicing and collecting. The duration of the training program is driven by the geographic location. We offer training opportunities in all of our 1,100+ branches across the U.S. Some branches experience high growth, and the potential for trainees to become a manager within 18 to 24 months, while in other areas up to 30-months. However, the key to the training time is your drive to succeed and advance.

Trainees will:

  • Build solid relationships with customers and employees, develop, manage, and operate a branch
  • Build sales skills and business development experience
  • Learn about American General Financial Services; becoming an expert in order to effectively recognize customers needs and provide solutions
  • Gain experience with evaluating loan applications, risk analysis, and credit decisions
  • Learn how to administer loan closings
  • Perform collections/adjustment activities

At the completion of the training program, you will be prepared to lead and develop a team of engaged employees in our branches, champion the ultimate customer experience, and build current and new customer relationships. To progress, applicants must be willing to relocate to a variety of destinations.
